Colourful Cambodia

What is it?

The Colourful Cambodia Art Project snowballed from being a series of fun days for Honour Village children in August 2012 to being an ongoing developmental and fundraising opportunity.

As part of activities working with the children, a group of volunteers including English teacher Frankie Sutton, primary teacher Rachel Bunce and university students explored the use of colour with the children’s drawings.

The children were soon using colour to great effect to portray themes from their daily life, their surroundings, and culture. It was wonderful to see them so happy and proud of their creativity.

We really want the Colourful Cambodia Art Project to flourish and expand as the children enjoy it so much and it is a sustainable source of income which is generated locally without reliance on international sponsors.

Where Does The Money Go?

HONOUR VILLAGE CAMBODIA provides a home, education and loving care to 50 children in need, together with children whose parents are too poor to provide for their basic needs. We aim to repatriate any children for whom this would be the better option at some time in the future, if their family circumstances change.
We employ both able-bodied and physically disabled people on our staff team. Every member of staff utilises his/her gifts and strengths and is committed to care for children who have been in extreme need.

You are welcome to visit Honour Children’s Village but please make an appointment first.
